PantryCompass does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.
PantryCompass is an offline meal planner that turns a week of planned meals into a single grocery list sorted by store aisle. The pages that follow describe, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with the things you type into it.
None. There is no account, no sign-in and no registration. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos or any other personal detail. The display name and badge you can set inside the app are optional, are never verified, and never leave your device.
For the app to work, the following is kept in the operating system's local storage, on your phone, and nowhere else:
This is held in a local Hive database plus one system preference entry. The recipe library itself ships inside the installed app. None of it is uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes every byte.
PantryCompass requests no runtime permissions at all. It does not use the camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, calendar or notifications, and the iOS build declares no usage-description keys because it needs none.
The Android package declares the standard INTERNET permission inherited from the default Flutter application template. It is unused — the app contains no networking code whatsoever. It is disclosed here for completeness, not because anything relies on it.
Nothing. PantryCompass is fully offline: no server, no backend, no API, no sync and no telemetry. Every recipe, font and image it needs is bundled in the installed app, and it behaves identically in airplane mode.
One thing is entirely under your control. If you tap Share on a shopping list or a recipe, the app hands that text to your device's own share sheet; whichever app you then pick — messages, email, notes — handles it under that app's own privacy policy. Nothing is shared unless you tap Share and choose a destination.
Nobody. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising network, no attribution platform, no cloud database and no in-app purchase or billing library. The app is built on open-source Flutter packages for local storage, charts, layout, animation and the system share sheet; none of them transmit your data anywhere.
PantryCompass is suitable for all ages but is not directed at children under 13 in particular. Because it collects no personal information at all and transmits nothing, it cannot knowingly or unknowingly gather data from a child — and there is nothing held by us for a parent to request the deletion of.
Your data lives only on your phone, so control of it is already entirely yours. Everything stored is visible in the app itself; any meal, list item, saved recipe or profile detail can be edited or deleted directly; and uninstalling PantryCompass permanently erases every plan, list, setting and counter it kept. We hold no copy, so there is no export or deletion request to send us and nothing left behind afterwards.
If anything in this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be revised, and material changes will appear in the app's release notes.
